Their titles are Game Warden, Conservation Officer, Conservation Warden, Conservation Police Officer, Game Ranger, State Police Officer, Special Agent, Refuge Officer, Conservation Agent, Environmental Conservation Police, Park Ranger and sometimes include Trooper and Deputy Sheriff. Those men and women are specially trained law enforcement officers dedicated to enforce laws of their jurisdictions that enhance the quality of life for people living there by protecting its citizens, its environment and the wildlife that lives there. Law enforcement off the pavement creates hazards and challenges not commonly experienced in major cities. Working with sister law enforcement agencies, the “wardens” stand defending our outdoor resources against profiteers, looters and criminal acts of destruction. The environment they work in gives them a unique look at life.
